About Mauricio José
I’m a 5th grade reading teacher at a dual language school, with experience teaching a variety of subjects, including math and science. I hold a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction, which has provided me with a strong theoretical foundation. Additionally, I have over three years of practical experience working in bilingual settings and institutions in Colombia, where I gained valuable hands-on knowledge in diverse educational environments.

I use a holistic and interactive approach to teaching reading and all subjects, focusing on engaging students through dynamic, hands-on learning experiences. My lessons include opportunities for both group collaboration and individual practice, allowing students to learn at their own pace. I create a classroom environment where students feel comfortable being spontaneous, open, and confident in expressing their thoughts and ideas.
