About Avi
I am an Electrical Engineering and Business Administration student in university. I have 12 months of cumulative industry experience as an engineer at various companies. I also have over 6 years of tutoring experience at the YMCA, as I started tutoring in Grade 10.

I have 6 years of professional tutoring experience with the YMCA, where I've tutored students from Grades 9 to 12 on subjects such as math, chemistry, and physics. I structure my lessons using Rosenshine’s Principles of Instruction:
• Identify the student’s current strengths, deficiencies, and learning goals.
• Review previous material and prerequisite concepts before introducing new content.
• Break difficult topics into small, manageable steps.
• Clearly explain and model each concept using worked examples.
• Complete guided practice together while asking questions to check understanding.
• Correct mistakes immediately and explain why they occurred.
• Gradually move toward independent practice as the student becomes more confident.
• End each lesson by reviewing the main concepts and creating a plan for continued improvement.
What sets me apart is my ability to merge my academic knowledge with industry experience as an engineer to explain concepts in an easy-to-understand manner.
My end goal with all students is to improve their grades while also building confidence and long-term problem-solving skills.
