About Calypso
Hi - I am Calypso. I am currently living in London and graduated from Oxford University in July, with a degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics. I have spent the summer doing an investment banking internship and am starting full time in June, but until then I am looking to do some tutoring! I have lots of tutoring experience at all levels, from 11+ through to uni applications and admissions. I did Maths, Economics and Philosophy & Religion at A-level and English at AS. I have done Spanish and French to high levels too, and can also tutor history and geography up to GCSE! I am very chatty and easy to get on with, and think that I can make tutoring more fun than others!

I think the most important think if to first identify what you want to get out of the tutorial and what your targets ore. Are you working towards an exam? What are the particular topics you struggle with?
My method from there depends on the subject - each subject is best learnt in different ways! It may be presentations, ideas of how to make great flash cards, making chains of reasoning and flow charts and then most importantly (maybe in alter tutorials) QUESTIONS! I think going through questions is the best way to learn, step-by-step, talking through the student’s reasoning.
I have tutored lots at many different levels and find that I need to be dynamic and adjust to how the student learns best - this may be visual so I will make presentations, if may be verbal so I learn through discussion and questions or students may learn best through constant repetition
