About Umida
Привет! My name is Umida, and I'm a Russian tutor with over 5 years of experience. I was born in Uzbekistan and spent much of my life in Russia, where I earned my bachelor's and master's degrees.
I started teaching Russian in high school, helping neighborhood kids with their homework. Since then, I've taught at least 30 students of all ages and backgrounds. I love teaching! It's incredibly rewarding to see the spark in my students' eyes when they understand a new concept or make progress.
My classes are more than just grammar and pronunciation. I'll give you the inside scoop on all things Russian, from culture and slang to modern media and everyday life. I also believe that learning should be fun, so I use a variety of games, activities, and resources to keep my lessons engaging and interesting.

- I believe that every student learns differently, so I tailor my instruction to the individual needs of each student. That's why I assess each student's strengths and weaknesses at the beginning of the tutoring relationship. And praising students for their efforts is my favourite part, so be ready to be supported throughout the learning process.
- The typical length of a lesson is 60 minutes but I'm quite flexible to change it.
- I have experience tutoring students of all ages and abilities, from elementary school to university level. I am also a fluent speaker of Russian and I have a deep understanding of Russian culture.
