About John
Hello! I am John, a dedicated and experienced mathematics tutor with a strong academic background and a passion for teaching. I hold a degree in Economics from the University of Nottingham and am currently writing my master's thesis at De Montfort University. My professional journey includes leading Action Research projects for the Centres for Excellence in Mathematics at Leicester College, focusing on Problem Solving and Assessment for Learning.
I am an avid student at heart, always eager to expand my knowledge and skills. Before my degree at Nottingham, I completed a short course in Economics at Oxford. I have also pursued a certificate in the social sciences through the Open University, studied AI online through Stanford University, and completed a course in engaging families in education through Harvard (online too). My continuous pursuit of learning reflects my commitment to education and my enthusiasm for staying current with the latest developments in various fields.
I specialise in private and personalised one-to-one mathematics tutoring, covering GCSE Mathematics, Access to Mathematics, and bridging KS3 to GCSE as well as GCSE to A-Level. My approach is student-centred, ensuring that each session is tailored to meet the unique needs and learning styles of my students. By fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment, I aim to build confidence and competence in mathematics for all my students.
