About Gian Lorenzo
I have a wealth of experience tutoring and practicing Econometrics. I have helped both undergraduates who just started out, mature students with gaps in their mathematical and statistical skills, and PhDs at prestigious institution such as Oxford and MIT.
I am very warm, relaxed and non-judgmental, always happy to meet my students wherever they are starting from.
I am quite skilled at finding out the precise conceptual difficulty students face and address it.

I hold a BSc and MSc in Economics as well as a PhD in Mathematics and I have taught Econometrics and Statistics classes for University of Warwick and University of Bristol and I part-time as Study Skills tutor at Bristol university.

Econometrics is a difficult subjects because it is often presented in heavily mathematical terms but exercises are then quite hand-on application of statistics.
I have a balanced approach covering exercises and examples while providing simplified picture and conceptual help to understand the theory and the logic behind every concept.
Together we decide wether to go over lessons, problem sheets, past papers or ad-hoc exercises and lesson.
I also provide tailored lesson plans for specific goals,mature students or students who are starting again after a gap year.
I teach all levels from undergraduate to PhD and all standard topics in Econometrics degree classes, including but not limited to:

Perfect! Excellent! Gian Lorenzo can explain advanced econometric and empirical analysis better than any professor I have had. He managed in a couple of hours to help me shape the empirical analysis chapters of my thesis. Highly recommended.
