About Kendra
Kendra Sobania is a distinguished performer and educator based in Los Angeles, California. Originally from Little Falls, Minnesota, she began her violin studies at the age of five. As a passionate chamber musician, Kendra toured the United States, bringing classical music to Korean communities across the United States and Korea. She was the recipient of the Grauman Fellowship through the Wallis Annenberg Performing Arts Center in Beverly Hills, California, where she designed educational outreach performances for local Los Angeles communities. Additionally, she has been involved in educational outreach performances throughout Los Angeles, South Korea, Minnesota, and New York. Kendra performs as a freelance musician in Los Angeles, engaging in studio work and regularly subbing with the Pacific Symphony and other orchestras in the area. She is a dedicated teacher, maintaining a large private studio in the Los Angeles area. Kendra has also worked as a teaching assistant at Interlochen Center for the Arts in Interlochen, Michigan, where she coached chamber music and taught violin lessons. Kendra holds a master's degree in violin performance from the University of Southern California, where she studied under Lina Bahn, and an undergraduate degree from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY, where she studied under Renee Jolles. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family and going for walks with her mini goldendoodle.

I am a classically trained violinist with a Master of Music from USC and a Bachelor of Music from Eastman. With 10 years of teaching experience, I have helped students of all ages build a strong technical and musical foundation while learning how to practice effectively and enjoy the process. My lessons are tailored to each student’s unique learning style, ensuring they make steady progress and develop confidence in their playing.
As a Pacific Symphony substitute violinist and former Interlochen Center for the Arts teaching assistant, I bring professional performance experience into my lessons. My students have won competitions, earned placements in All-State ensembles, and successfully auditioned for top programs. Whether preparing for competitions, auditions, or personal growth, I focus on creating engaging and structured lessons that help students progress quickly and confidently.
