About Phoebe
I am an enthusiastic and ambitious individual and I'm a recent graduate from Durham University, studying Modern Languages and Cultures (French and Spanish). I have been tutoring online for over a year, on several different online platforms. I'm passionate about learning languages as it opens doors for you to connect with people from other countries and cultures across the globe.
Outside of studying and tutoring, I love windsurfing, reading and baking!

My Teaching Experience
I have previous tutor experience, working with school children taking their GCSE's. I find tutoring a rewarding experience and I love seeing students improve! I have also taught English as a Foreign Language in my Year Abroad in France, teaching adults from ages 18-65. I found this to be a great experience, and I learnt how to adapt my teaching style to different ages and abilities.
When structuring a tutor programme, I like to take the first lesson to find out more about my student and their goals/aims. This could range from learning a new tense, to improving exam grades. After learning more about individual students' learning styles, I tend to structure a tailored course that incorporates presentations, worksheets, videos and games in order to target all 4 language learning areas. I also try to speak (and encourage to student to speak) in the target language as much as possible, to help the student gain confidence and improve pronunciation.
Language learning can be a daunting process, so I like to ease my students into their lessons, no matter the level, making sure they are comfortable and confident every step of the way.
