About Erik
I am a drummer and percussionist, specializing in Afro-Cuban, Caribbean, South American and Spanish music. I graduated from Codarts Rotterdam, the Netherlands with a Master of Music (MMus) Cum Laude. In the meantime, I also worked as a teacher at the Xinghai Music Conservatory in Guangzhou, China, mainly as a music teacher and as the coordinator of the World Music department of the conservatory. I perform regularly with several groups and projects, mainly in the Latin- and Afro-American music scenes, but also in other genres. As a drummer and percussionist, I shared the stage with international musicians and ensembles such as pianist Carlos Matos and percussionist Nils Fischer with CaboCubaJazz, pianist Carlos Cippelletti with HYBRID / C, singer Isa Bornau, the Noordpool Orkest, Acción con Clave, Francisco Peña y La Banda, the Afro-Cuban folk ensemble Ilu Egbe, singer Alberto Caicedo, drummer Lucas van Merwijk and others. Apart from China and the Netherlands, I have performed in several countries such as Germany, Luxembourg, Belgium, Spain and France.

I teach drums and percussion in Luxembourg and the Netherlands. I offer individual lessons, as well as group lessons, for all ages. In addition, I also offer various specific percussion workshops, customizable on demand. Besides, I also offer online courses on Zoom, Skype, Facetime, Whatsapp and Wechat.
