About DrMichael
I have been a practicing graduate-trained social worker for 44 years and a doctoral level public health specialist. I have taught at the non-degree seeking, undergraduate and graduate level in the university setting and have taught in specialist degree and individual studies pathways. I have been a graduate school admissions reviewer and taught students preparing to take advanced graduate research and statistics courses.
I am passionate about learner success having written several instructor trainings for colleagues and written 5 university courses approved by the Quality Matters (*QM) certificate program. I enjoy face to face, zoom, and totally asynchronous teaching platforms and value interactive learning with learners of all ages and backgrounds.
There are many pathways to learning research and statistics... one size does not fit all. I look forward to individualizing a learning pathway that works for you.

Research and statistics can be fun using my original PLAID-CAR method developed to help non researchers learn and enjoy research methods and statistics. Using my experience teaching face to face, online and asynchronous remote learners I have developed the teaching approached needed to support every learner to be successful.
We will explore the topics of quantitative and qualitative research, research design and methods , plus explore the topics of descriptive, correlational and inferential statistics. All with an eye to real life application.
The approach I have developed can be applied with all levels of learners; pre-college, undergraduate, graduate and doctoral. My approach encourages diversity in learning, incorporating diverse world views and cultures.
