About Julius
I am a pianist and accordionist with an international performing background and a broad musical education. I began playing music at a young age and have since studied in Germany, Denmark, and Canada. I am currently pursuing my Doctorate in Music at the Université de Montréal, where I previously completed my Master’s degree with distinction.
My experience at the piano spans a wide range of styles and musical practices, from classical standard repertoire to jazz and big band music, free improvisation, comprovisation and experimental music, as well as composition, arrangement, and popular music. This stylistic versatility has been an important part of my musical development and continues to influence both my playing and teaching.
Alongside the piano, I have developed an active international career as a concert accordionist, performing at venues including MÜPA Budapest, the Wiener Konzerthaus, Konserthuset Stockholm, Philharmonie Luxembourg, and L’Auditori Barcelona, as well as at major international festivals. My work has included solo and chamber music, collaborations with composers, and premieres of new acoustic and electroacoustic works, with performances broadcast on national and international radio.
My studies and professional experience across different countries, styles, and musical environments have shaped an open and versatile approach to music that I bring directly into my piano teaching.

Versatility is an important part of my teaching. My own musical background ranges from classical and contemporary repertoire to jazz, improvisation, composition, and popular music. Whether a student wants to work on classical repertoire, explore jazz harmony and improvisation, play popular music, develop their own compositions, or move between different styles, I adapt the material and approach to their individual interests and ambitions.
My goal as a teacher is to bring out the full potential of every student and help each person grow into a confident and independent musician. My experience as an active concert artist shapes the way I teach: I pay close attention to musical detail, style, and sound, and encourage students to think creatively and musically from the very beginning.
At the center of my teaching is a strong technical foundation. A typical lesson combines focused technical work with in-depth exploration of repertoire, personalized practice strategies, and applied theory and ear training. Listening, historical and stylistic context, and discussion also play an important role, helping students develop a deeper understanding of the music they play rather than approaching it only from a technical perspective.
I tailor my methods to each student’s level and learning style, aiming to challenge, support, and inspire them. Ultimately, I want students to develop reliable technique, thoughtful musicianship, stylistic flexibility, and the confidence to express their own musical ideas.
