About Katherine
As someone who loves learning, I have been the student that instructors have catered to as well as the student that they thought asked too many questions or was a nuisance. Due to these experiences, I have learned what works and what does not work in the learning environment. I believe in providing a safe space where students can feel free to ask questions because at the end of the day and make a mistake or two, they are here to learn. I do not believe in making students feel badly for an incorrect answer to a question because answering my questions incorrectly will help you to remember the content on the exam, test, quiz, or even assignment. I know as a learner myself that each person learns differently and while mnemonics may work for one learner, a drawing or chart may work for another. No question is silly or dumb, especially when you gain knowledge from each question you ask.

My lessons are dependent on the student seeing as each person learns differently. I strive to give students tips and tricks that work for them such as working with visual learners to draw out the concept they are struggling with or even create a flow chart. If I am catering to a group, I tend to include all sorts of methods of learning and I believe that there is no such thing as a stupid question and that it takes courage to ask questions. I believe I am set apart as a tutor because I invest in the students and I know what it is to learn differently, as well as have tutors and teachers that have and have not catered to my learning style. I am incredibly knowledgeable in Anatomy and Physiology after spending at least 8 credit hours of a doctorate program in the cadaver lab. I have also spent undergraduate credit hours and doctorate credit hours in pathophysiology as well as differential diagnosis. Based on my skill set I believe I would work best with AP students as well as college students.
