I worked with Dr. Finley during my first year in education, while I was still a substitute teacher pursuing my teaching certification. Dr. Finley was such a supportive and stable mentor to me (when it wasn’t even in his job description). He took the extra time to make sure I was comfortable and ready for any challenge that I may have faced. The skills he taught me followed me into my own classroom and I am forever appreciative of his guidance. Dr. Finley is the most understanding, genuine and caring teacher you will have. He goes above and beyond to curate a classroom experience that is conducive to the learning and understanding of Spanish. Taking a course taught by him will not only help establish discipline as a new language learner, but it will also help to improve understanding of other concepts such as syntax, grammar and appropriate use of words in different cultures. Dr. Finley can relate to students very well, while always keeping it professional. Any institution would be lucky to have him on board!

Finn will be very personable with the people in his class. He doesn’t treat teaching like a job but like a passion. He values respect and integrity, but isn’t so serious that he won’t crack a joke or two to keep the environment light.

He is thorough and he wants his students to succeed. He strives to pronounce words correctly so that any Spanish cultural dialect can understand. I absolutely recommend!!!
