About Berneda
I’m an experienced educator and Language Arts specialist with more than 10 years of experience helping students develop their reading, writing, communication, and critical-thinking skills. I hold a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Educational Leadership, a Master of Arts in Education Studies, and a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Secondary Education.
Throughout my career, I have worked with students across middle and high school settings and have taught a wide range of learners, including students with different academic strengths, learning needs, and goals. My expertise includes writing instruction, reading comprehension, grammar, literary analysis, research, essay development, and differentiated instruction.
As an educator, I use research-based instructional strategies rather than a one-size-fits-all approach. I take time to understand how each student learns, identify areas for growth, and provide targeted support that builds both skill and confidence.
My goal as a tutor is not simply to help students complete an assignment. I want students to understand why something works, develop strategies they can apply independently, and become more confident and capable learners.
