About Laura
About me:
Born in Valledupar, Cesar; Colombia; I am a bilingual singer/teaching artist completely passionate about opera, voice/singing, pedagogy and arts administration and management. I graduated as a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from EAFIT University, Medellín (2020), also hold a one-year Graduate Diploma in Cultural affairs Management (obtaining a honorary mention for my thesis project) from University of Rosario, Bogotá (2021), and academically finished the two-year graduate Cultural Management masters program at the same institution (Looking forward to obtain my diploma on December 2024). Currently, I find myself in the journey of pursuing my Master of music in Vocal Studies at Longy School of Music of Bard College in Cambridge, MA, USA.
What Sets me Apart?
With years of experience in both performance (10) and education (4), I have participated in prestigious masterclasses and academic exchanges across Colombia, USA and Spain. I have showcased my talent as a soloist and chorister at renowned venues, including Teatro Colón in Bogotá, Colombia and Sagrada Familia basilica in Barcelona, Spain. As a pedagogue, I have worked with several institutions, such as schools, academies and orchestras; both as a full time teacher and as a workshop lecturer.
I connect with students of all levels and backgrounds, helping them refine their technique, build their repertoire, and express their artistry.
