About Amaya
I'm Amaya, a designer, researcher and editor working across industrial design, strategic design, biomimicry and ecological practice. I trained as an industrial and product designer in Madrid and at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, then went on to do a Master's in Strategic Design and Entrepreneurship at the Royal Danish Academy and Copenhagen Business School. My professional work has spanned product design at Carrefour, biomaterials research at the Chair for Biohybrid Architecture, biodesign collaborations with 3XN/GXN and BioMason, and ongoing strategic and editorial work with collectives in Copenhagen and internationally.
My practice sits at the intersection of design, ecology and systems thinking, and I'm drawn to work that takes ambiguity seriously: projects where the problem itself has to be reframed before it can be designed for. I bring that same orientation to teaching: less interested in giving you a method to copy than in helping you develop the judgment to choose, adapt, or invent the method your project actually needs.

Designer, researcher and educator with a Master's in Strategic Design and Entrepreneurship from the Royal Danish Academy and Copenhagen Business School, and a Bachelor's in Industrial and Product Design from UDIT in Madrid. I currently externally supervise a Master's thesis at Politecnico di Torino and have a peer-reviewed paper in press at the Transition Design Conference 2026. Native English and Spanish speaker. Lessons are practical, conceptually rigorous, and built around the project or question you're working on. The first session is free so we can discuss your goals before committing.
