About William Joel
I have a background in education and the liberal arts. I am also available as a Theologian who is knowledgeable in most major world religions and I quickly sift through ideological lenses to get to the ‘bones’ of a skeleton [rather than straw people] so a student can construct their arguments with proper facts. Ideologically framing an argument is the second or third step in negotiating how to frame your content so that it is ipso facto convincing to your audience of readers, in what is then a persuasion piece or paper designed to change the beliefs or policies of or enacted by others. Many styles and types of writing are used in scholarship and we need to make sure we have the main outline and objective always in mind, because we live in a society that envisages this self-made person who never seeks help as somehow naturally superior to others in their comparative groups, but this is really a farcical idea for the most part and is borne from an ideology of imperialism or conquest rather than any idea of worth based on scientific observations that have then been substantiated and successfully connected [causally] to human ‘pedigree’ and I applaud you for getting this far in realizing that having assistance in your work can actually help you develop into a more learned and well-rounded individual.

I believe in structure and I also firmly believe in going the extra distance to meet a student where they need to be met, which may also include outside opinions from family or teachers with student’s consent. I teach using extracurricular materials and the coursework provided by the student, however I am always determined to accommodate the learning abilities and styles of each individual and meet those needs by utilizing flexible teaching styles and introducing approachable materials nuanced in degrees of difficulty. Never settle for mediocrity.
