About Maria
I'm from Russia, from central Siberia, and I'm a degreed linguist and interpreter with three working languages (Russian, English, Spanish). So far I've been teaching for a bit more than six years, the age of my students has varied from 3 to 48 years old:) I have gained experience in many kinds of teaching for different needs: I've prepared for exams, helped with home tasks, offered speaking classes, etc. I’m a native speaker of Russian, but also I actually do speak good Russian: I’m absolutely sure that to be born in a country is not enough to become a professional speaker of its language; to master your mother tongue you should read classic literature and practice your communication on high levels, so be sure, I’ve done all that:)

As a native speaker of Russian with a deep love and interest in my native language, I teach grammar, focus on extending vocabulary, work a lot on pronunciation and, if my students want to, enhance the programme with insights into Russian cinematography and literature, which is not only an exciting cultural experience, but also helps to reinforce listening and reading skills.

Perfect! I highly recommend Maria as an outstanding tutor. She is consistently professional, punctual, and genuinely attentive. What I found particularly valuable was her thoughtful approach to error correction—she carefully noted my mistakes while I was speaking and then, once I had finished, we reviewed them together in a clear and constructive way. Rather than simply pointing out errors, she encouraged me to actively correct them myself, which made the learning process far more engaging and effective. Her method not only improves my accuracy but also boosts my confidence in using Russian. Thank you, Maria!
Perfect! A very friendly, enthusiastic and well-prepared teacher. Made me feel very at ease straight away and made an effort to built a rapport. Would fully recommend Maria!

Maria is a great teacher, her classes are helpful and enjoyable!
Teacher Maria's class is always well-organized, focuses on the main points and highly productive.
In every class, she thoroughly explains the knowledge points, combines the knowledge and exercises to help her student to remember better. She encourages students to speak Russian and tries to improve their pronunciation.
After every class, prompt exercises help me consolidate the knowledge points.
Besides, Teacher Maria is not only humorous in her class，but also knowledgeable about the culture of Russia, her fatherland. As her student, I learn Russian and broaden my horizons at the same time. I have a lot of fun in Maria’s classes.
Last but not least, she even gives me some instructions for further learning of Russian and practice I could do on my own!
Мария очень хорошая и весёлая, она отличный преподаватель, огромное спасибо ей за наши занятия!

2020-6-4Maria has been a great tutor for me! She is so positive and open, that after classes I usually have a wonderful mood:) Her approach is very student-centered: she adresses all my personal grammar issues in Russian and is flexible enough to change the lesson plan whenever I ask for some topic that interests me right now. I really recommend her to those who are interested in learning Russian and are serious about this language!
