About Cole

I am a Chemistry tutor with over 3 years of teaching and laboratory experience and hold an MSc in Medicinal and Biological Chemistry. My tutoring focuses on analytical chemistry and the practical application of laboratory techniques. I guide students through chromatography, including HPLC, GC, and TLC, teaching them separation principles, peak analysis, and interpretation of retention data. Spectroscopy instruction covers UV–Vis, IR, and NMR, helping learners connect patterns in data to molecular structures. Titration lessons focus on accuracy, endpoint detection, and error minimization. I also teach experimental design, helping students plan methods, control variables, and document procedures effectively. Data interpretation is a major part of my lessons, including calibration curves, concentration calculations, and evaluating uncertainties. I work with chemistry lab students and learners preparing for research or quality assurance careers, offering guidance on method validation and quality control standards. My teaching approach combines theoretical concepts, practical exercises, and problem-solving strategies to build confidence and skill. Students learn to analyze data critically and perform experiments with precision. It is rewarding to see learners grow from beginners to independent thinkers in the lab. I enjoy sharing the joy of accurate chemical measurement and reproducible results, helping students appreciate the beauty of analytical chemistry.

The teaching methodology focuses on combining analytical review with structured learning. Lessons cover macromolecules, metabolic pathways, enzyme kinetics, and biochemistry fundamentals. Case studies are used to apply chemical concepts to real-life biological systems. Students explore enzyme mechanisms, substrate specificity, and pathway regulation. Zoologists and botanists benefit from examples tailored to their academic needs, connecting chemistry to their fields. Analytical review sessions highlight misconceptions and reinforce understanding. Learners practise interpreting experimental data, evaluating reactions, and predicting outcomes. Stepwise problem-solving exercises develop critical thinking and logical reasoning. Personalised feedback guides students toward academic excellence. Lessons integrate theory, application, and analysis to build mastery over complex biochemical processes. Students gain confidence in understanding molecular interactions and metabolic pathways. The approach ensures learning is structured, engaging, and rewarding. By the end, learners refine their skills and deepen comprehension of life’s chemical processes.
