About Tasmia
Hi, I'm Lorin and I'm an undergrad student at the International Islamic University of Malaysia doing a double degree on Biotechnology and Biochemical Engineering. I was always in love with Biology but my degrees made me eventually fall in love with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as well.
I've been tutoring since I was 15 years old and I started off by helping my juniors from school because they were having a hard time with Biology. But since then, I've found a passion for teaching and helping people find an appreciation for STEM subjects. I'm experienced in teaching students for their GCSE's and IGCSE's and I've also recently started teaching a few students in the OSSLT curriculum. I'm somewhat familiar with the SPM curriculum but my BM is fairly sub-par (๑•﹏•) (I have a band 8 on my IELTS and won a few awards for my English essays though)

I started tutoring in 2016 and I've taught students ranging from grade 5 to pre-university. My last batch of students just got their results for their O levels and A2's and I'm proud to be able to say that they all got A's and A*'s in Biology, Physics and Chemistry~ they were failing Biology and Physics when I started teaching them in April but they pulled through and put in the work ᕦʕ •ᴥ•ʔᕤ
I'm a firm believer in learning through comprehension as opposed to mindless memorization. As such, my classes will be tailored according to the students' level of understanding regarding the syllabus. Each week, we'll have one class to understand the material and another class where we'll solve a past paper/sample question together to prepare for the actual exam. I prefer to go through the chapters in accordance to the students' level of understanding but if they have school quizzes/mock exams, I'm willing to prioritize the syllabus for the school exam first. I have all the study materials prepared in advance so we can get right into it and start working towards an A in Biology, Physics and Chemistry.
Classes will be conducted online twice a week via Google meets, my schedule is pretty flexible but I'd prefer to limit each class to 1.5/2 hours but you can contact me via WhatsApp for any questions 24/7.
