I bridge the gap between evidence-based instruction and the heart-centered approach every child deserves. With a background in professional communication, an Associate of Arts, and "lived-in" experience as a homeschool educator, I understand that reading isn't just an academic skill—it’s the foundation of a child’s self-esteem.
My journey into the Science of Reading began at home, where I used structured literacy to ensure my own children transitioned into public school reading well above grade level. Today, I bring that same dedication to my students, combining the technical rigor of orthographic mapping and morphology with the patience of a parent who has been in the trenches.

Whether your student is in a public, private, or homeschool setting, my 60-minute, one-on-one sessions are designed to provide the consistency and specialized focus needed to master the mechanics of language.
In this critical "learning to read" developmental stage, instruction at Astronomical Learners is focused on establishing strong foundational reading skills through the Science of Reading.
We target:
- Decoding & Phonics: Moving away from guessing and toward true, accurate word recognition.
- Orthographic Mapping: Helping the brain permanently store words for effortless retrieval.
- Automaticity: Building fluency so your child can read with confidence and ease.
The Parent-First Advocacy Model
To ensure the safety and success of every student, I operate under a Parent-First Advocacy Model. I work exclusively and directly with parents or legal guardians for all bookings, initial consultations, and progress updates. I believe a strong, communicative partnership between the tutor and the family is the ultimate catalyst for a child's literacy journey.
Note: All initial consultations must be scheduled directly by a parent or legal guardian.

Scheduling & Cancellation Policy
To ensure every student receives my full focus and a consistent routine, I maintain a strict schedule. Because these one-on-one sessions are customized entirely to your child’s specific needs, that time block is reserved exclusively for them and cannot be filled on short notice.
Late Cancellations: A 100% charge of the full session fee applies to any cancellation made with less than 24 hours' notice.
Late Arrivals: Arrivals more than 15 minutes late are considered a "no-show" and will be billed in full. This policy ensures I can respect the schedules of all families and maintain our shared instructional goals.

Standard Hourly Rate: $20 per hour
5-Hour Lesson Pack: $100
10-Hour Lesson Pack: $200
Complimentary First Session
Free 30-Minute Consultation: Your very first 30-minute introductory session is completely free. This allows us to meet, discuss your learning goals, and map out a customized plan before you commit to a full lesson.
Lesson Delivery & Materials
100% Virtual (Webcam): All lessons are conducted online via webcam at the standard $20/hour rate.
Travel Fee: $0. Because all instruction takes place in our secure digital classroom, there are never any travel or commuting costs.
All-Inclusive Materials: The hourly rate covers everything. You will never be charged extra for curriculum design, digital learning tools, or downloadable practice resources. Everything we need for our sessions is provided at no additional cost to you.
