Hi, I’m Ira, and my approach as an English tutor focuses on clarity, structure, and confidence. I believe students learn English best when they understand how language works, not when they memorize rules. My goal is to help students think clearly, write effectively, and express their ideas with confidence.
My teaching method is simple and practical. I break down skills like essay writing, reading analysis, and grammar into clear steps. I explain concepts using examples and then guide students through practice so they can apply what they learn right away. I also focus on revision and improvement, not just getting the right answer.
A typical lesson starts with a quick check-in to see what the student needs help with. We review one main skill, such as writing a strong thesis or improving sentence clarity. Then we practice using real assignments or short exercises. Each lesson ends with specific feedback and clear next steps.
What sets me apart is my strong background in writing and communication. As a competitive debater and experienced writer, I know how to build strong arguments and analyze texts clearly. I explain mistakes and show students how to fix them, so they can improve on their own over time.
My lessons are for middle school and high school students, including honors and advanced classes. I work with students who want help with essays, reading comprehension, grammar, or building confidence in English.
My goal is to make English feel less stressful and more manageable, so students leave each lesson feeling confident and supported.
