About Nirodha francina
Hello, I’m Nirodha—a practising civil engineer with an MSc in Civil Engineering and over 10 years of tutoring experience.
Alongside my engineering career, I have always loved helping students realise that they are more capable than they think. I am patient, friendly and approachable, and I take pride in creating a calm, supportive space where students feel comfortable asking questions, tackling difficult topics and building genuine confidence.
I provide one-to-one tuition in English from primary level to A-Level, as well as maths, Biology, Chemistry and Physics up to GCSE. I am DBS checked and committed to helping every student make meaningful progress towards their own goals—whether that means building foundations, improving confidence or aiming for the highest grades.

My English lessons are structured, encouraging and tailored to each student’s ability and goals. I help younger learners strengthen their reading, comprehension, spelling, grammar and writing confidence, while GCSE students can develop analytical writing, essay structure, language techniques, revision strategies and exam technique.
Lessons usually last one hour. We begin with a short recap or starter, agree the focus for the session, then work through new material using clear explanations, examples and guided practice. I adapt resources to keep lessons engaging and ensure students leave knowing exactly what they have improved and what to focus on next.
I have over 10 years of tutoring experience, am DBS checked and hold an MSc in Civil Engineering. I teach English from primary level through to GCSE and welcome students of all abilities—whether they need extra support, want to grow in confidence or are working towards ambitious grades.
