About Alex
I have a Primary PGCE and Drama degree where I have been giving lessons since I was 16 years old to a 4-year-old, where I helped them discover how to play a basic rock four beat! The age range that I tutor and teach differs from 4 years old all the way to 70+, as I believe passion for playing is what is key to unlocking all the other techniques and skills that the professional drummers tend to use in their own work.

I have a get-up-and-go attitude to playing the drums, where freedom to play the kit is paramount to learning. Within that freedom, I help students explore additional techniques to help provide a whole range of different ways to experiment with creativity and for my students to express themselves.

Alex is helping me to prepare for my grade 7. We are looking at different pieces and expanding my drumming technique.
Alex is a very talented teacher. He is encouraging and is helping me to persevere on my drumming journey! (Noah, aged 15).I started drum kit lessons with Alex just under 3 months ago, as a complete beginner. Alex is a really enthusiastic & helpful tutor & is also most encouraging & patient. He works to bring out the very best of someone's playing ability & approaches each lesson with much positivity.
LindaAlex has been teaching me drums for three months, I’m probably not the usual demographic for wanting to learn to play drums ( I’m 67!) but Alex is a brilliant teacher showing endless patience, as I struggle with self confidence in my ability. I would thoroughly recommend him as a tutor.
My 6 year old recently started drum lessons with Alex and I’ve never seen him more excited or happy to learn anything before. Alex makes the lesson enjoyable and fun, and in the words of said 6 year old ‘I love drum lessons’.
