About Erica
I'm a Data Science major at Washington University in St. Louis (graduated near the top of my class in Seoul with a 1550 SAT, including a perfect 780 on Math), and I've spent the last few years applying that quantitative foundation everywhere from a Disney+ analytics internship to building machine learning models for cancer detection and inventory optimization. That same rigor is what I bring to tutoring. I don't just help students get the right answer, I try to help them understand the "why" behind it so they can tackle problems they've never seen before. I've tutored students from early arithmetic through Pre-Calculus, and I know firsthand what it takes to go from struggling with a concept to mastering it, since that's exactly the kind of problem-solving I do in my own work and studies every day.

I focus on building real understanding rather than memorized steps, diagnosing gaps early and connecting concepts to what a student already cares about. Lessons run 45-60 minutes with a warm-up, review, new material, and independent practice, adjusted to how fast the student is picking things up. I work with students catching up, staying ahead, or prepping for a transition, across arithmetic through Pre-Calculus.
