About Stacia
As a graduate of Dartmouth College, I understand the level of reading, writing, critical thinking, and preparation that strong academic programs require. I bring that experience into my tutoring by helping students develop the skills they need to succeed while making challenging material easier to understand.
I work to create a professional, encouraging, and judgment-free environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning from their mistakes. I take each student's goals seriously and tailor my approach to their individual needs, whether they are looking to strengthen their English and reading skills or prepare for the ACT.
My goal is not simply to help students get through an assignment or improve a practice score. I want them to leave each session feeling more confident in their abilities and better equipped to tackle future challenges independently.

My approach as a tutor is to make learning feel approachable, practical, and tailored to each student (with some fun approaches to memorization!). I believe students learn best when they are comfortable and don't feel pressured to know everything all at once — everyone learns at their own pace.
For English and reading, I help students strengthen their comprehension, vocabulary, critical thinking, and ability to identify important information in a passage. Rather than simply giving students answers, I guide them through questions and strategies that help them become more confident and independent readers.
For ACT preparation, I focus on teaching students how to approach different question types, manage their time, recognize patterns, and use strategies that make challenging questions feel more manageable. I also adjust my teaching style based on each student's strengths, weaknesses, and learning pace.
Most importantly, I want students to feel comfortable asking questions and ... making mistakes! Mistakes are essential to learning!
