About Sarah
I currently am in school to become an optometrist. I work as an assistant manager/licensed optician at an optical and a lot of my focus at work is to train and aid new associates on the retail floor (consists of a lot of math and numbers). I also have one of my associates as an apprentice optician. She works directly under me, learning the essentials in order to be an optician. I have a passion for teaching others! Math has always been my favorite subject and I have found it fairly easy so why not spread my knowledge and teach other people ways to excel in math the same way I have! My high school GPA was over a 4.0 where I took AP calculus in my senior year. I graduated honors from the opticianry program, which is an associate in science degree. A lot of opticianry consists of math and I believe that is why I excelled so much in the program!

I would like to incorporate a lot of hands-on work as well as examples in order to get my students engaged in what we’re learning. Math is one of the hardest subjects for a lot of students so I want to be sure that they can have it simplified in a way that is easy, fun, and retainable.
