About Sooah
17-year-old flutist, Sooah Jeon, quickly demonstrated enormous talent since beginning her flute studies at the young age of seven. At the age of nine, Sooah was officially announced as the world’s youngest flutist to receive a Performance Diploma with distinction award from the Associate of the Royal School of Music in the United Kingdom. She was the $5000 Salon de Virtuosi career grant winner and the Juilliard Pre-College Open Concerto Competition Winner. Recently she was the youngest semi-finalist to enter the International Geneva Flute Competition. As a soloist, Sooah has performed at New York’s leading concert halls, including the Bruno Walter Auditorium at Lincoln Center, Weill Recital Hall and Isaac Stern Auditorium at Carnegie Hall. Recently, she performed in the Haydn Hall, Austria, and the Municipal House Smetana Hall in Prague. She has performed as a soloist with numerous orchestras, including the Concert Festival Orchestra, New York Chamber Players Orchestra, 92Y Orchestra, and Adelphi Orchestra, The North Czech Philharmonic Orchestra and the Slowakische Radio Symphony Orchestra. Currently, Sooah studies with the world-renowned flutist Carol Wincenc at the Juilliard School as a BM undergraduate student.

As a determined artist and also a student in college myself, I tend to teach in a style that is adjustable to all kinds of people looking to learn. I am very open to all levels and am confident to give a learning experience that will hopefully help open eyes to many different aspects of art and the fundamentals of music. Whether you are looking to start the flute for school or play around and learn different techniques, from contemporary techniques all the way to jazz/beatbox techniques, these lessons will provide fun and most importantly sufficient training to reach that goal.
