About Jake
By trade, I am actually a Chef in New York City. I've been working regularly in kitchens for the last 6 years, and the majority of my co-workers have been Hispanic/Latino. Through the experience of meeting so many great individuals who have played a huge part in my journey to learn the Spanish language, I developed a desire to teach and share my knowledge of the English language. I recently spent 3 months in Mexico where I learned, taught, experienced, and grew. I am so fortunate to say that my students and I have made incredible progress thus far.

It can be very challenging and scary for ESL students to attempt to make conversation in English with strangers. I believe that it is very important for those learning a new language to build friendships/relationships/connections with people who speak that very same language. My lessons involve building these connections with my students for the purpose of communicating in a better fashion. This way, the feeling of anxiety or nervousness when attempting to speak English can be transformed into a feeling of comfort and second nature. We will focus on our mistakes, our insecurities, and our overall goals. My primary goal is to help you improve as much as I possibly can.
