About Sarah
I'm Sarah, and I am a first year undergraduate student at UCL. Spending a majority of my A Level years in lockdown I understand how daunting it is to focus on your A Level exams and your university applications on your own. I want to help younger students with these endeavours, passing on tips and tricks I've learned through my experience plus the education I received from my school during this time.
I am currently finishing my first year undergraduate degree of BA hons Geography at UCL (University College London). For GCSEs i achieved 7s, 8s and 9s in English, Maths, Triple Science, Geography, Spanish, Art and Classical Civilization and completed AS Level chemistry alongside an A and two A*s in Biology, Art and Geography at A Level. I also received an A* in EPQ.
I am comfortable in tutoring all these subjects to GCSE level and both Geography and Biology to A Level. I also hope to help any students needing extra advice, guidance or support in either their EPQ projects (a daunting and new project) or university applications.
I have experience in tutoring gcse level biology in the past during my years in lower sixth, partnered with a few students to individually work with them in targeted areas including specific concept understandings, question practice and exam technique. I have also done this with chemistry and geography gcse students in the past. I also gave advice and tutoring in EPQ research guidance, referencing techniques and overall essay writing, as well as similar techniques with lower and upper sixth students starting their university applications at my previous secondary school.

I usually ask students up front what they are struggling with the most and make these aspects the primary focus for the lesson as well as further questions or sub topics that follow. I often ask students to send over work in advance so we can go through it together and I can help with things they are unsure about.
Typically my lessons range between 40 minutes to 1 hour depending on the student's needs.
I have plenty of experience as a tutor not only with university applications but also taught subjects while I was still a secondary student myself, so i am used to being paired up with younger students to work one on one with them.
These lessons are aimed at current A Level students looking for some help and support with their EPQ, personal statements and overall university application advice.
