My approach to tutoring is all about understanding how each student learns best and tailoring my teaching to fit their needs. I recognise that everyone has a different learning style, so I mix up my methods, from exam practice to more creative activities, depending on what works for the student. I focus on making lessons interactive and engaging, using real-life examples and breaking down tricky topics into simpler steps.
Typically, my lessons last around 60, giving us plenty of time to cover the material, practice, and address any questions. I hold A-levels in four subjects with grades A, A, A, and B, and I’m currently studying for a bachelor’s in Philosophy at the University of Birmingham.
My lessons are designed for students aged 11 and up, whether they need help catching up or are looking to excel in their studies. My goal is to help them build confidence and succeed academically by adapting to their unique learning style.

Perfect! Isla has so far been an excellent tutor for my daughter. She is trying to adapt as much as possible to my daughter's style of learning as she is dyslexic and finds it hard to retain information, especially abstract concepts such as the ones studied in Philosophy. She produced a very helpful powerpoint for their first lesson which was so helpful. My daughter is already feeling much more positive about the topic and I hope her confidence will continue to grow with Isla's support.
