About Lucy
As a Sociology with Social Psychology student, I am keenly aware of the social factors which may limit access to education and the resources and support available to individuals. Therefore, I am passionate about sharing knowledge and making education accessible and personalised to the individual.
I genuinely enjoy learning and sharing ideas, and helping people achieve their full potential. I believe everyone can succeed academically if given the proper support!
I am hoping to enter into the education sector upon graduation, so tutoring is a great opportunity for me to develop my skills and see what works best for students, as well as furthering your education.
I come from a family of teachers so have been involved with students and educational structure from a young age.
Furthermore, I currently volunteer teaching young children to develop their reading skills, so am experienced in teaching and have a high level of patience and compassion with my pupils.
I also work as a wellbeing and community officer within my student union so am passionate about inclusivity and supporting students both within and outside of academia.

I’m open to teaching students across a variety of ages, experience and background! Experienced in essays and creative writing, formal writing for job applications and CVs, and effective communication through emails and other workplace platforms.
I am currently studying BA sociology with social psychology at the University of York, achieving first class honours in all of my assessments. Through my degree, I have developed my academic essay writing skills in addition to learning about effective communication in the workplace and social interaction.
I achieved GCSE grades 7 in English Literature and Language, and A-Level grade B in English Literature, alongside achieving a grade B in my EPQ dissertation.
I’m open to tutoring students in English Literature and Language, as well as general literacy, spelling and communication. Lesson length and focus can be dictated by your personal requirements, just send me a message and we can figure out what works for you!
