About Emilio
I am a qualified teacher and have 6 years of teaching experience. I have taught in high schools and English Language institutes throughout this time. Students have often expressed their satisfaction with my lesson as they developed their skills in their subject areas.
I currently teach secondary English and HPE but also have experience teaching secondary Mathematics, Religious Education, History and Geography.

The reason I became a teacher was to foster the growth of lifelong learners. I am a believer that we as people continue to learn and grow each day as that my job as a teacher is to equip students with the skills to be able to continue learning both while at school and beyond the classroom. This is a core belief that drives my teaching.
Throughout my teaching experiences I have engaged with many strategies and learning options. I believe that the use of technologies can both enhance the learning and engagement of the students in a society where technology is always at the fore.
To teach a class effectively, the teacher must have support of the students and have established procedures in place. Therefore, I find that building a good rapport with the students is important and setting agreed upon expectations is key to a functioning classroom. Keeping up to date with current issues and establishing common interests are examples of how I have built good rapport in previous experiences. Incorporating these current issues and common interests into lessons is something that I then aim to achieve to assist with engagement of the students. Receiving student input into classroom expectations is a great way to make the students responsible for their learning and give them ownership of how they conduct themselves.
Finally, the last important point regarding my teaching philosophy is that students should feel that they have learnt content relevant to their world. While I understand that this may be difficult in certain circumstances, I believe that engaging students with the real-world applications of their learning is the key purpose behind a good education. I have also discovered that ensuring the content contains real-world applications makes the content more interesting and increases the engagement levels of students.

I have been taught by Emilio during for four months during an English language course. While the course with other teacher was sometimes pretty boring, with Emilio it wasn't completely different. He is able to teach to you using games and interesting activity, which are able to captivate every student.
Emilio has teached me English for around 5 months, besides the short period of time I could gain a decent knowledge on the language. With his interactives classes he was able to catch the attention of all involved students even on boring subjects, he also has a clear/simple way to share his knowledge with the students, that is, he makes easier to students get the information.
