About Leila
My name is Leila du Bruyn, I am currently navigating my own academic journey through completing my bachelor's degree in social sciences. I have a strong passion for the English language and the multidimensional aspects that this wonderful subject offers to each and every one of us. I believe that just as many things in this world, there are frameworks within this subject that hold a certain sense of subjectivity and require us to reflect and explore outside of the defined lines, and focus on our own strengths, perspectives, emotions and cognitions regarding the content provided. I believe that developing a keen sense of understanding for the impact this subject has on all of us, individualistically, is a crucial and fundamental building block in one’s personal growth, life experiences, relationships and perceptions.

I believe that developing an understanding for the foundational constructs of the English language, be it reading, spelling or comprehension skills, is vital in ensuring a defined sense of know-how later on in your schooling career, future job and even an overall knowledge regarding your everyday life. By allowing yourself to break down the complex facets of this subject, you subsequently will provide yourself the opportunity to reshape, reframe and reorganize your personal feelings, understandings and perspectives regarding the experienced academic boundaries. My aim within sessions would be to encourage to explore and reflect on your existing strengths within the subject and apply that to your navigation process of the more difficult tasks at hand.
