About Samara
Hi there! My name is Samara La Roche, and I am a college freshman studying Nursing at Grand Canyon University. I was an excellent student throughout my early education and all throughout high school maintaining a 3.8 GPA or above as well as taking many AP classes. I believe that learning doesn't have to be boring and that doing your best is enough. I hope to push students to be their best academically while also taking into account their lives and individual personalities. Collaboration and listening are some of the best tools to use as a tutor and I am excited to help you recognize your potential and reach your goals!

I like to assess the needs of the student before addressing a lesson plan, but I can help in 2 different approaches: one being that I help with day-to-day homework and build a lesson through practice OR I can prepare a mini lesson plan to go over what their teacher is going over in class with an emphasis in specific problem areas. I prefer to take a personable approach to lessons and for younger students, will tailor the lesson plan using characters or references from things that they like but this can vary depending on the age group. I also like to embrace parent involvement usually with a check-in at the end of the lesson to see how the student has been improving outside of our time together and brainstorm ways to improve the learning for the student.
