I help through dialog and discussion, specifically for history. My lesson plan would involve first going over and reviewing what the student is learning about and then discussing it with the student to identify problem areas. After identifying problem areas, I will help the student make connections to help them understand the material. Following both of these, I will ask the student to look for any other connections or facts that might be interesting to them to solidify their knowledge of the topic. For English, I can help a student brainstorm and help find problems within their writing.
I am willing to work with students from 5th grade onwards, but am not qualified to help with anything past college intro classes.
