About Krystle
I have taught Elementary education in the classroom for 4 years and during that time I also taught after school Intervention (tutoring). I am also 120-hour TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) certified, as well as having certifications in the Orton-Gillingham approach and the UFLI method which are English language literacy development courses.

I am so excited to help you learn and grow! As an educator I use the Orton-Gillingham and UFLI methods of teaching where I implement verbal (speaking), visual (pictures), and kinesthetic (touch) tactics to help you learn the letters and sounds of the English language. Once we have that foundation, we can start to build upon those skills to encourage strong Reading and Writing capabilities. It is also very important to me that my students have fun and feel welcome in my class! We will be sure to make space for silliness and laughter so that learning is fun and not a chore. My students always had a blast in my classroom and I hope to bring that joy of learning to you as well!
A typical lesson plan will look like:
- Welcome check-in
- Mini quiz to check for understanding
- Review or introduction of skill
- Actual lesson
- Review of skill (have student teach me)
- Exit ticket
What sets me apart as an educator is my dedication and levity that I try to provide for my students. It has always been my philosophy that learning should be fun and enjoyed! So as an educator, I try to drop the "student to teacher" relationship and make it a person to person relationship so that there is no hierarchy and just positive learning.
My lessons will be for Elementary students who need support with ELA and for children and adults who want to learn English as a second language.
