About Malath
I am a Creative Technologist and Biodesigner pursuing my Masters in Biodesign at Central Saint Martins. My aims are to utilise my computing background in concert with biology to mitigate the effects of the climate crisis. Formerly a SWE at the Bank of America, Currently, I run the design studio Subterranean Fête, where I create algae-based air purifying home goods.
I am endlessly curious, I am also applying my knowledge of quantum computing onto the biological realm. Ever thought about how migrating birds know which direction to go? Magnetoreception! A protein in their eye that is sensitive to blue light allows them to perceive magnetic fields - how curious!

Curiosity and playfulness optimise our cognitive ability to understand and retain information. Students learn via project-based & hands-on manner, with Parsons-level iterations and critique - arriving at a refined final project.
I was a mentor for both Parsons BFA and MFA Design and Technology students, helping guide them through complex design challenges for over two years whilst pursuing my BFA. I also worked as a resident mentor at Giant Room in NYC, teaching elementary school students the pillars for creative computing.
Lessons are suited for a range of students, starting from age 8 and going on to undergraduate & graduate students.
