About Simon
As a committed Guitar tutor with 9 years of teaching and professional experience, I help school and college students progress from beginners to confident and skilled performers.
I focus on developing technical skills such as chord accuracy, rhythm control, scale practice, finger coordination, and expressive playing.
One of the most rewarding milestones of my career has been seeing students perform independently and receive appreciation at school and college events. My classes are structured, supportive, and adaptable to each student’s pace, allowing steady progress while keeping lessons engaging and enjoyable.
I also emphasise creativity, effective practice habits, goal-setting, and stage confidence. My mission is to inspire students to become skilled, confident, and passionate guitarists who carry their love for music throughout life.

My approach to teaching Guitar focuses on building strong fundamentals while encouraging artistic expression through Motivation, Communication, Integrity, and Creativity.
I start with essential basics such as tuning, posture alignment, simple chords, and rhythm counting before gradually introducing advanced techniques like fingerstyle playing and scale improvisation. Motivation helps students stay consistent and confident in their learning journey.
Communication ensures that each lesson is explained clearly and demonstrated practically for better understanding. Integrity is central to my method, as I emphasise correct finger placement, timing precision, clean tone production, and disciplined learning habits.
I provide honest guidance and steady support for improvement. Creativity is nurtured by allowing students to experiment with chord combinations and compose short melodies. Besides Guitar, I also teach music reading and ear training skills.
