About Soorya
Being trained under Dr Surojeet Chatterji, (LrSM and the first indian to have recieved a full soviet scholarship by the then prime minister of India.), (Alumnus of the Moscow Conservatory, Aspirantura highest degree conferred on him by Russia, 1982), I have learned from him the minutes of Russian school of piano playing.
My Career/Experience -
* Started playing piano at the age of 9.
* 19 years of experience in piano playing. Distinction in Grade 8 piano & Western Music Theory
* Alumni of Dr. AR Rahman's college - KM Music Conservatory
* Trained for 2 years in KMMC on Russian piano technique & Music production programme
* Performed along with Maestro AR RAHMAN at UN General Assembly (2016) - a prestigious Concert & a tribute to late Carnatic singer Dr.MS Subbulakshmi
* Was a part of ARR's Sufi ensemble & toured across India & abroad

When teaching, my immediate goal is to create a healthy growing space. To do this, I prioritizes maintaining a positive and energetic environment during lessons, and i create individualized curriculum for each student. Whether a student is learning classical music or improvising over chord charts, I teach the importance of technique, attention to detail, and practice methods. In this way, students are able to be independent in the time between lessons, and they gain the capability of learning pieces on their own without risk of injury.
I look forward to meeting new students since I am very passionate about teaching the piano. I believe my background in piano performance, piano accompaniment, and music therapy will all help my students in their musical journey of learning the piano
