About Joshua
My name is Joshua, and I am a Computer Science undergraduate specialising in Web Development and Cyber Security. Alongside my studies, I have gained practical experience through academic projects and real-world work with small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), including delivering security awareness training and applying secure coding principles in practice. I have a strong interest in helping students understand technical concepts clearly and confidently. Having progressed through GCSEs, A-Levels, and university-level computing myself, I understand the challenges students face and focus on explaining topics in a way that is approachable, structured, and relevant to real-world scenarios. I am patient, supportive, and adaptable in my teaching style, and I aim to create a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace.

My lessons are structured, practical, and tailored to each student’s level and goals. I begin by assessing current understanding before breaking topics down into clear, manageable steps. Concepts are explained using simple language, worked examples, and practical exercises to reinforce learning. For subjects such as Computer Science, Web Development, and Cyber Security, I place a strong emphasis on practical application alongside theory. Students are encouraged to actively engage in problem-solving rather than passively listening, helping them build both understanding and confidence. Most lessons are 60 minutes in length, which I find is ideal for maintaining focus while covering material in depth. Lessons are suitable for: GCSE and A-Level Computer Science students University-level students studying computing or IT-related courses Beginners looking to build foundational skills in programming or web development My goal is to help students not only improve academically, but also develop the confidence and independent learning skills needed to succeed long-term.
