About Diya
I’m a Computer Science student at the University of Warwick with a strong passion for programming, AI and technology. I achieved all 9s at GCSE and A*s at A level, and have developed my programming skills through academic study, personal projects, hackathons and coding competitions.
I have experience teaching programming through independent coding camps, where I designed and delivered sessions for students, as well as through my work as a Computing mentor. I have also participated in AI and coding hackathons, giving me experience applying programming to real-world problems and developing projects from scratch.
Before starting university, I completed a summer internship at Wise, a leading fintech company, where I gained experience seeing how technology and software are used in a professional environment.
I enjoy teaching programming because I love breaking down complicated ideas into simple, understandable steps. My aim is not just to help students write code, but to develop their problem-solving skills, confidence and ability to think like a programmer.

My programming lessons are practical, structured and tailored to each student’s level and goals. I focus on helping students understand the logic and problem-solving behind programming, rather than simply memorising code.
Lessons can cover programming fundamentals, algorithms, data structures, debugging, object-oriented programming and exam preparation, as well as support with coursework and personal projects. I can adapt lessons to the student’s needs, whether they are completely new to programming or looking to develop more advanced skills.
I use a combination of clear explanations, worked examples, coding exercises and practical projects. Students are encouraged to write and debug code themselves, with guidance when they get stuck, so they develop the confidence to solve problems independently.
Having taught programming through independent coding camps and Computing mentoring, I have experience explaining technical concepts to students with different levels of experience. I can make lessons particularly relevant to students studying GCSE or A level Computer Science, while also helping students who simply want to learn programming outside of school.
Lessons are typically 1 hour, but this can be adapted depending on the student’s age, level and objectives.
