About Robert
I got a BS in math and computer science from Truman State University, and my PhD in computer science from Washington University in St. Louis.
I've been a computer science professor for 6 years at a small liberal arts college, so I am used to (1) students without a lot of coding experience, and (2) customizing my material to very small class sizes.

I prefer to pick/design a hands-on project and guide you through it by asking leading question (Socratic method). First I'll try to get a sense of what background knowledge you have, then pick a project and some associated resources. When you get stuck, I like to design a little mini scenario that leads you to the solution.
I'm happy to tutor high school age and up, including both introductory programming but also more advanced topics such as systems programming or machine learning.
