About Simon

I started tutoring during my undergraduate degree in mathematics and found that I have a passion for it. As I progressed to a Master's and eventually a PhD, I began working in classrooms and help centers teaching both mathematics and computer science to undergraduate and graduate students. During this time, I continued tutoring as I find the one-on-one setting to be the most rewarding. Now I am involved in machine learning research but would like to pick up where I left off helping people achieve their educational goals and sparking interest in the subjects that are so important to me.

About the lesson

I am committed to developing deeply personalized lesson plans for people of all ages and abilities. I strongly believe that anyone can succeed in mathematics and computer science with the right teacher. I strive to meet my students where they are to chart the most effective path towards a deeper understanding and appreciation of the subject. Whether in the classroom or one-on-one, I always aim to show that math and computer science don't need to be intimidating, but can be rewarding and even empowering. Whether you're struggling with the basics or seeking a deeper understanding of advanced topics, I can help by providing intuitive explanations in plain English, walking you through examples, and identifying knowledge gaps that you may not have even realized were there.
