About Seemal
Hello everyone! Thanks for considering me as your tutor. I'm currently a Master's student in Computer Science so I have been where you are and I understand the stress that comes with a rapidly approaching deadline or being stuck with a concept and not being able to work through it. Oftentimes, a nudge in the right direction makes all the difference and that's exactly what I'm hoping to give you. I've taken university-level courses in AI, Machine Learning, Network Security, Operating Systems, Data Structures, Data Mining and HCI so I bring a well-rounded understanding to each lesson. As a tutor, I'll give you the tools, resources, and the right questions to ask so you can actually understand what you're doing and build confidence in your problem-solving skills. Whether you're in high school, an undergrad in computer science or just starting out with coding, I'm here to help you learn how to think like a programmer. My schedule is also relatively flexible so we'll be able to figure out a time that works for you!

I believe in a student-centered approach to learning. My lessons will not just be about me covering the material but will be personalized to the student’s learning strengths. I don’t believe in just giving out the solutions but more in guiding students to think critically, break down problems and explore different paths to learning. I also tailor each lesson to the student’s learning pace or preferred learning style, whether visual, practical or conceptual. A Typical Lesson Plan: A typical lesson will start with a quick check-in to the material taught in the previous lesson and getting feedback from the student in the form of short quizzes or some oral questioning. Then we’ll dive into the key concept or problem for that lesson. I’ll use examples, pseudocode, or live coding to walk you through it and then encourage you to attempt similar problems. We’ll talk through your reasoning and thought process to make sure you understand the problem at hand. The last 5-10 mins of every lesson will be dedicated to your questions and addressing any concerns you might have about the taught material. What sets me apart: As a tutor, I will not just be covering material but my focus will be on getting down to your level and explaining a concept in a way that helps you retain that information long-term. I bring a multidisciplinary background in AI, Machine Learning, Network Security, Operating Systems, Data Structures, Data Mining, and HCI, so I can connect the dots across topics and help you see the bigger picture. Who my lessons are for: My lessons are best suited for: Undergraduate computer science students, High school students exploring programming and anyone struggling with specific courses or needing help with concepts like algorithms, Python, C/C++, Java, data structures, or system-level programming. Whether you're prepping for an exam, stuck on a coding assignment, or just curious to learn, I adapt the session to fit your specific goals and current level.
