About Shilpa
Hello! I'm Shilpa Sarat, an M.E. Computer Science graduate from BITS Pilani with professional experience in software development and a lifelong passion for teaching.
Teaching has always been something I wanted to pursue. Ever since my school days, I have enjoyed helping others understand concepts and gain confidence in their abilities. Sharing knowledge is something that gives me a deep sense of satisfaction and purpose.
One of my biggest inspirations has been my father, an HR professional who has also taught part-time for many years. Growing up, I saw the respect, appreciation, and affection his students had for him. Even today, it is heartwarming to see former students recognize and thank him for the impact he made on their lives. Watching this firsthand inspired me to follow a similar path.
For me, one of the most rewarding moments as a teacher is seeing a student finally understand a concept they were struggling with. That spark of understanding, followed by their confidence and enthusiasm, is truly priceless. I believe learning should be engaging, encouraging, and tailored to each student's pace.
Whether you are a beginner taking your first steps into programming or a student looking to strengthen your Computer Science skills, I aim to create a supportive learning environment where questions are always welcome and understanding comes before memorization.

My teaching approach focuses on building strong fundamentals and developing problem-solving skills rather than memorizing syntax. I believe programming is best learned through practice, so I use a combination of concept explanations, real-world examples, coding exercises, and guided problem-solving.
A typical class begins with a brief review of previous concepts, followed by the introduction of a new topic using simple examples. We then work through coding problems together before moving on to independent practice. I encourage questions throughout the session and adapt the pace based on the student's learning style and comfort level.
What sets me apart is my combination of a strong academic background in Computer Science and several years of professional software development experience. I help students understand not only how to write code, but also how to think like a programmer and apply concepts to real-world situations.
My classes are suitable for school students, college students, beginners exploring programming for the first time, and anyone looking to strengthen their Computer Science fundamentals. Topics can include Programming Fundamentals, C/C++, Data Structures, Algorithms.
