About Troy
My interest in programming began when I realised that code is a tool for turning ideas into reality. I earned a B.Sc in Software Development, which gave me strong foundations in programming logic, software systems, and computational thinking. With 9 years of teaching experience, I have helped learners from many backgrounds grow into confident coders through patient explanation and structured support.
I believe programming should be taught in a way that feels approachable and empowering. My teaching style focuses on breaking down complex topics into manageable steps while helping students understand why solutions work. I enjoy guiding students who are just beginning their coding journey as well as those aiming for advanced academic or career goals. Lessons are personalised to each learner’s pace and interests.
Outside tutoring, I continue learning through projects, new tools, and evolving technologies. Teaching programming is meaningful because it gives students a skill that opens doors to creativity and opportunity. Watching learners gain confidence through coding is one of the most rewarding parts of my work.

Programming becomes much easier when students learn it as a clear way of thinking rather than a confusing technical skill. In my lessons, I guide learners through the fundamentals of coding by focusing on logic, structure, and problem-solving habits. Students explore topics such as Python basics, control flow, functions, data structures, and algorithmic thinking in a calm and supportive environment. I encourage curiosity and experimentation, helping learners feel comfortable making mistakes while building real understanding.
Lessons are always tailored to the student’s experience. Beginners start with simple coding exercises that teach core ideas step by step. Intermediate learners strengthen their ability to debug, write clean code, and build small applications with confidence. Advanced students focus on algorithm efficiency, object-oriented programming, project design, and preparation for exams or interviews. Every session includes hands-on practice, feedback, and guidance that helps learners progress steadily.
Programming also teaches resilience and creativity. Students often feel proud when they create something functional from their own logic. My goal is to help learners develop independence, confidence, and the skills needed to explore technology with excitement and clarity.
