About Alyssa
I am a programming tutor with 9 years of experience and a PhD in Computer Science. My fascination with technology started through building simple applications, which later inspired me to study software systems in greater depth and share my knowledge through teaching.
I believe every learner can become a successful programmer with clear guidance and consistent practice. My teaching style focuses on explaining concepts patiently, encouraging experimentation, and helping students understand programming logic instead of relying on memorization.
Outside teaching, I enjoy contributing to open-source projects, exploring cloud technologies, and studying new software development frameworks. These interests help me keep my lessons practical, modern, and relevant for today's learners.

My programming lessons focus on helping students understand the thinking behind every line of code instead of simply memorizing commands. We begin with programming fundamentals such as variables, operators, conditions, loops, functions, and input-output before moving toward more advanced topics. Every lesson uses simple English, practical coding demonstrations, and small exercises that allow students to build confidence one concept at a time. I encourage learners to test ideas, find solutions, and improve through regular hands-on practice.
As students become more experienced, we explore object-oriented programming, recursion, arrays, data structures, algorithms, debugging, file handling, and software design principles. Lessons also include mini projects, logical challenges, code reviews, and optimization techniques that strengthen analytical thinking and programming ability. Each learning plan is adapted according to the student's goals, making steady improvement both achievable and enjoyable.
My goal is to help students become confident programmers who understand how software is designed and developed. Every lesson develops logical reasoning, creativity, independence, and practical coding skills that prepare learners for future academic and professional success.
