About Kevin
I’m a part-time piano teacher based in Hamilton/Dunedin and a HSFY tutor, passionate about teaching to the best of my ability, and I strive to constantly refine and adjust my personal teaching style towards students in any situation, including beginners and more advanced learners alike.
I have maintained an A+ average across all my papers in Music and Computer Science (University of Waikato) and HSFY (University of Otago).

I believe that it is important a student has continuous feedback loops of proper guidance and reflection targeting the finer and occasionally ambiguous intricacies of renowned works, which facilitate a deeper understanding and appreciation of the sheer genius of the composer that extends beyond just the score. Achieving their desired examination results becomes a mere byproduct of the journey, rather than the focus. By frequenting solo and chamber music masterclasses of the finest concert pianists in NZ, while testing my hypotheses regarding proper teaching on the students I have taught in the past, I have garnered valuable performance and teaching knowledge that I hope to impart through my lessons.
