About Kayla
Across seventeen years of coaching I have trained 875 students, many competing seriously for top university placements or the most demanding professional certification standards available. My own competitive academic background shapes every part of how I teach, since I know exactly what a real examiner actually demands from a speaker under pressure. I am intense, blunt, and unapologetically demanding, because soft feedback has never once won a genuinely competitive placement for anyone I have coached. Students who thrive with me want the truth about their weaknesses immediately, not comfortable reassurance that delays real improvement. I am not the tutor for someone wanting a relaxed hobby class experience at all. I exist purely to build exam ready speakers.

My Spanish lessons are built for genuine competition, not casual enjoyment, since students preparing for real exams need relentless, measurable improvement rather than gentle encouragement alone. Every session opens with brutal, honest assessment of the previous week's written work, identifying precisely what cost marks in grammar or structure without softening the feedback delivered. I assign extremely specific fluency goals each week, tracked against a demanding personal benchmark that tightens progressively as a student improves over time. Mock oral and written exams under maximum realistic pressure happen constantly, since I have watched too many capable speakers collapse under pressure they never trained for directly. I push hard, deliberately, because the real exam room will push far harder than I ever could in a lesson. Comfort is never the goal here; genuine readiness always is the priority.
